Job Summary

Receives payment for service and parts transactions and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction.

What you will do

  • Greet customers at the cashier window in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Compute customer bills
  • Receive cash, checks and credit card payments from customers; records amount received
  • Make change and issue receipts to customers
  • Provide cash refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise
  • Reconcile cash drawer daily
  • Refer customers who have questions about the work performed, additional maintenance or repairs, etc. to the service advisor or other appropriate individual
  • Handle customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refer dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution
  • Maintain and file repair orders, parts invoices, rental forms; list missing documents
  • Assist service department with telephone coverage
  • Provide clerical and secretarial assistance to parts and service departments
  • Work with department manager to keep abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value, and any changes in price
  • Work with outside warranty companies to secure payment
